SPRING WATCH

The first Daffodil is out in Hagley Park, by the Band Rotunda!
There are Cherry Blossoms in flower between the Rotunda and the Avon River.
Also in Hagley Park, there are Snowdrops, Snowflakes, Soleil d'Or, Ranuncula, Crocus, Lily of the Valley Bush, Daphne, Rhododendrons and Winter Rose. And in other places there are Japonica and Star Magnolias in flower.
So in some parts of Christchurch, Spring is early by about 4-5 weeks, by my reckoning.
Yet in other parts, plants are still behaving as if it is winter.
It's going to be an interesting August, to watch the trees and plants, and their transition to Spring.
